Newsletter December 2005
First a thank you to all members that attended the 2005 AGM. We would like to inform you of the following for the 2006 season.
Rule Changes
Rule 5 in the Constitution now reads “The management of the society shall be entrusted to a committee consisting of 3 senior officials, not more than 9 elected committee members. Out of these 9 a vice chairman will be elected. The society will have the following other person, an Honorary President.”
Rule 55 in the Constitution now reads “Any published articles about catches from club waters must not name the water and any photographs used must not show a definitive background.”
The committee and senior officials of the club will be as 2005. However with the rule 5 change it as left one vacancy on the committee and we are happy to announce that Gary Lynch as accepted an offer of a place on the committee.
The lease is due for renewal on Crabmill however with recent events and the changes at the farm we have decided to sign a 1 year deal with the option of a further 4 year lease. In the coming months we plan to use the services of the Environment Agency to establish the stocks of all species and look to rebuild Crabmill as a premier carp water this may include the removal of other species.
Unfortunately because of the fee requested by the owner we have had to allow them 3 daytime only tickets to sell as day tickets. The day ticket anglers will not use our car park but must abide by our rules.
The club is still actively seeking stock ponds any member knowing of any suitable waters is asked to inform the Secretary. We have excess fish in the Plex and need to move them on to grow.
We are currently seeking professional advice on the weed problem on Cotton Moss and hope to have a plan in place shortly. We are also negotiating a deal on some British breed carp for the Cotton lakes, these fish have a very good pedigree and are the same strain as the current British record.
Baddiley Mere will require swims building on the Peat banks during the work parties, details of which will be sent with your membership renewals.
All members are asked to inform the Membership Secretary of any address or email address changes. Along with your renewal application we are asking you to send a SAE no smaller than 9`x 6`.
Please Note – Renewals will not be sent without SAE’s.
After the success of the Matthew Booth Memorial match and the Invitation match on Brereton we plan to have a series of Carp matches next summer. These will be held on a Saturday night over 12 hours. Any member who would like to attend is asked to contact Dave Raine on 01260 274302 or 07908 460651. This will give us an idea of the number of matches needed. The Mathew Booth match will remain by invitation for Matthews’s friends.
Please keep the photographs and catch reports coming, these help us to asses the growth rates of our stocks.
The committee thanks you for your continued support and would like to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.
