NEWSletter DECEMBER 09

The highlight of 2009 was without doubt the Junior fishin. A great time was had by the Junior members who attended and by the adults who helped to organize the event. A special thank you to Andy Cooper and Andy Pitman for their expert advice and guidance. Also a big thank you to all those who donated some fantastic prizes for the kids. The event was a huge success and will be an annual event in the future. A big thank you to all the members who attended the AGM this year, once again some good discussions were held and noted for the future.

Sorry but prices have had to rise again this year, we hope we have softened the blow though as you can now pay your subscription by three post-dated cheques of £65.00, and two subsequent £60.00 Cheques dated the 28th of January, February and March. Once we have the received your cheques your permit for the coming year will be posted out as soon as possible. The full adult price for 2010 is £185.00. All other prices are listed in the rule changes below.

Thank you for all the help at the work parties this year it is much appreciated by the club.

We have taken delivery of some fantastic fish this year in the shape of the Dintons strain. The fish will hopefully grow well and fast in the waters. Please treat the fish with the respect they deserve, as they are the future of our waters. If you catch any of the Dintons fish please send in photos with date and weight so we can monitor the growth.

All the lakes have fished steady this year and after a successful spawning we have had some weight drops. The fish seem to still be feeding well late into autumn so hopefully will gain ground again before next summer. We are still getting reports of some multiple fish catches still being taken now in December. The Biggest Carp this year was 34lb 2oz caught by Chris Hopwood from Cotton Park. Paul Ikin has had the Biggest Cat at 38lb 12oz from The Plex.

We have also been busy with promoting the club this year and are delighted with the new Web site and also with the increased use of the Members Forum. In recent weeks we have also set up a Facebook page for the club. Special thanks to Mark Beardmore for all his work on the Internet. Due to the new website this year the membership list is growing at a very fast rate.

Renewals are due from January 1st, and MUST be by post only. (Do not send recorded or special delivery). Please remember to send a SAE 9x6 (Inches), together with payment, and ID card, or new passport photo’s to :

Mr P Bailey, 7 Marlow Close, Sandbach, Cheshire. CW11 3ZG.

Please keep posting photographs and catch reports on the Wheelock Forum, they are very valuable to the society if you are unsure how to do this forward them to me, dave@wheelock-as.co.uk
